Portland Head Light

in Cape Elizabeth, Portland Head Light is a historic lighthouse and one of the
famous attractions of the city. It is the oldest lighthouse in the state of
Maine and completed in 1791. The lighthouse is maintained by the United States
Coast Guard and the former lighthouse keepers' house is a maritime museum
within Fort Williams Park. The lighthouse was painted by Edward Hopper in 1927
and his watercolors reside at Boston's Museum of Fine Arts. This historical
