Located near Powell in Liberty Township, the Columbus
Zoo and Aquarium are one of the finest zoological parks in the state. The land
of zoo lies along the eastern banks of the O'Shaughnessy Reservoir on the
Scioto River is the home to more than 7,000 animals representing over 800
species from all around the globe. The exhibitions of the zoo are divided into

species and divided into various biomes representing global climate zones
include Himalayan Mountains, Tropical Rainforest, and Pacific Island Water
Garden. Other plant collections include a Bonsai Courtyard, Showhouse with
seasonal displays, orchids and tropical bonsai collections, and Palm House with
more than 40 species of palms.
Center of Science and Industry
The Center of Science and Industry or also known as
COSI is a famous science museum and research center. Originally opened in 1964,
it features more than 300 interactive exhibits throughout themed exhibition
areas. COSI covers a huge area of 320,000 square foot, this state-of-the-art the facility is designed by Japanese architect Arata Isozaki. Located on a bend in
the Scioto River in the Franklinton neighborhood, it maintains a center of
research as well as health & medicine laboratories staffed by medical
residents. Since 1964, it has engaged with nearly 30 million unique visitors
through on-site and outreach programs. In 2008, this center was named the no. 1
science center in America for families by Parent Magazine.
